Kuli/Holy Angels’ Girls College which was started in 1948 as a Roman Catholic mixed school affiliated to St. Joseph’s Cathedral administered by Chilaw Catholic Bishop’s. Since March 1st 1955, under the leadership of first lady Principal Rev. Sr.Mary Lucy this school was transformed into Roman Catholic Convent. At that time, the school consisted of 672 students and a staff of 17 teachers. With the start of Advanced level Arts Stream on June 9th 1992, the school was known as Kuli/Roman Catholic Balika Maha Vidyalaya. In 1995 the school’s commerce section started and since then school has often recorded 100% results in Commerce section.
In 2001, in consideration of an administrative requirement, the school was named Kuli/Holy Angels Girls’ College, establishing its identity further. At present, the school, the school consists of 1950 students and 84 teachers in the staff.
At present, the Advanced Level Classes are commenced in the streams of ARTs, Commerce, Mathematics and Bio Science. Many students who pass G.C.E.(A/L) seek admission into the universities. As such, there is a variety of extra-curricular activities such as Girls guide, Red cross, Cadet, Environmental corps along with the sports activities such as Gymnastic, Carom, Chess, Women cricket and also in the terms of Aesthetic education like music, art and drama that have brought achievements of all-island level to the school. It is apparent that the school seems to be proceeding day by day.
In the year 2003, our school began to win the national fruitfulness esteems, and in 2007 it was able to claim the gold medal of fruitfulness. The implementation of 5S concept has enabled to create a pleasant, serene learning atmosphere for students. Under the guidance of our principal Sr.W.B.M. Fernando our school has recorded the following esteems.
Won the first place from district and provincial level competition as the best environmental school.
The best principal award and the Silver medal from the competition conducted by Panasara Thaksalawa by North western province in 2012.
Won the silver medal from the competition of Green Esteem Festival organized by Central Environment Authority in 2012.
Parallel to the 60th  anniversary of the school’s proud history, Suradu Pahasara Celebration was held associated with religious virtual and a simple celebration. Our students won the first place in the drama competition from the province level and all island level in 2019.
Our School stepped on its 65th anniversary in 2020, achieving highest results in G.C.E.(O/L)  and Grade 5 scholarship examinations reaching its zenith compared to previous years.
Under the deteriorating conditions caused by the global covid19 pandemic in 2020, we found it difficult to continue the planned activities as we wished to do. Anyway we made utmost attempts to enliven the teaching and learning process, relying on our physical resource to the maximum level quite successfully for both primary and secondary levels by means of online method.
In 2021, Grade 11 student W.A. Janani Dhananjana Wickramasinghe won the bronze medal for the events 100m, 200m and long jump participating in the Asian Youth Para Olympic sport meet held at Kalifa in Baharein.
W.A. Kalshini Dulmitha won the gold medal in National Statistics Olympiad 2022 competition, organized by the Institute of Applied Statistics Sri Lanka in collaboration with University of Sri Jayawardhanapura.
Our school received the Senior Police Women IGP Cup in two consecutive years 2022 and 2023. W.A. Janani Dhananjana won the silver medal in 2023 representing Indian Open Para Olympic Sport Festival recently.
Receiving the contribution of whole school community, we are dedicated to fulfill the sublime task of offering the courageous daughters replete with virtues, intelligence and skills to Mother Sri Lanka. Kuli/Holy Angels Girls’ College is fully dedicated to fulfill the greatest task of producing virtuous disciplined daughters along with achievement of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of education.
